A new site that is being worked on, centered around the Pony Express Route through Nevada. http://www.xphomestation.com/nvsta.html#RTL |

A good start. Two trails I'd like to run at some point (likely in bits and pieces) is the Pony Express trail and the Lassen-Applegate emigrant trail, running from the Humboldt River west of Winnemucca, across the Black Rock Desert, northwest to extreme northeastern California. |

Thanks for the link, I’ve bookmarked it. I’ve done much of the Pony Express across Utah, but just bit-n-pieces of it across Nevada. David A. Wright wrote: Two trails I'd like to run ....the Lassen-Applegate emigrant trail, Your lucky, that’s close for you, for me it’s a long drive to the trail head near Rye Patch. I had about 9 days on the trail, but had to by-pass a few things, of course I need to go back anyway. When I was up that way the Yellow Dog Ranch had just built a guest cabin. I don’t know how far they have got with it, but here’s a web site. http://www.oldyelladogranch.com/index.asp I’ll look forward to your write-up Dave when you do this trip. |
