March 20th is the first day of spring. Why don’t we celebrate it with a hike through the Narrows at the Anniversary Mine? This is in the Lake Mead Recreation Area. The hike is several miles long (4-6, depending on where we start), with a bit of boulder scrambling, though most of the hike is pretty flat. The scenery is fantastic. Here’s some information:
http://www.birdandhike.com/Hike/LAME/Lo ... arrows.htmWe’ll meet at 9:00, at the point where you leave the pavement on Lake Mead’s Northshore Road. If we have enough cars with good clearance (I may have non-Jeep friends coming from work) we can drive everyone to the mouth of the Narrows and start the hike from there. Here’s a map, with the meeting spot marked as “Trailhead”. The point we might be able to drive to is marked “End of Road”:

You’ll need to pay a fee when you enter the Lake Mead Recreation Area. Kids and dogs are welcome. You don’t need to tell me if you’re planning to come. Just show up! Mark your calendars, because I won’t be sending out any reminders.
Hope to see you there,
Dawn
